Hazel J. Riemer

February 6, 1918 — July 17, 2015

Hazel J. Riemer, of Waukesha, died peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2015 with her daughters by her side at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 97. She was born in Beaver Lake, WI on February 6, 1918 the daughter of John and Vera (nee Tuck) Bishop. Her family moved to Minnesota in 1921 before returning to the Waukesha area in 1935 where she graduated from Waukesha High School. On April 11, 1943 she married John Riemer; he preceded her in death. Hazel worked for the A&P Store, Woolworths and retired from the Waukesha Public School District where she worked as a cook for many years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Hazel enjoyed bowling, Wii bowling, playing sheepshead and dominoes but most of all she loved being with her family and friends who were very important to her.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters Barbara (Craig) Nichols of Royersford, PA and Beth (Bruce) Lasecki of Hortonville, WI, her grandchildren, Kristin (Domingo Leguizamon) Gilpatrick, Erica Nichols and David Nichols and her great-grandchildren, Sheleigh Leguizamon and Benjamin and Ariel Nichols. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Shelly Gilpatrick, brother Edward Bishop and sisters Grace Bishop and Marjorie Jackson.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a procession to Prairie Home Cemetery for the graveside service. A memorial service celebrating Hazel’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 11th at 11:00 a.m. at The Silvernail Apartments, 2451 Silvernail Road, Pewaukee, WI 53072 with a reception to follow.
