Helen Jean Czarapata (nee Brown) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born in Eagle at her family home on January 22, 1937, to parents Jerry and Bernice (nee Cooper) Brown.
In 1983 Helen married her husband of over 40 years, John, and they created a beautiful life for themselves. John owned and operated “John’s Awning and Windows,” where Helen’s first 9 ½ years were spent working outside with John, and then eventually transitioning to their secretary. She was a wonderful employee but was known to give a deal or two when John wasn’t around. After living in Colorado, Helen came back to be closer to her family in 2019. She enjoyed her time traveling, favorably by train, making it to the East and West coast. John and Helen also made it out of the country to places like England, France, and Isreal. When she wasn’t on the go, she was home where she enjoyed gardening and watching the Cardinals from her window.
Helen is survived by her loving husband John Czarapata; children, Fred (the late Cathy) Vergenz and Christine Vergenz; stepchildren, Paul (Ginna) Czarapata, Brian (Chris) Czarapata, and the late John Czarapata Jr.; step-grandchildren, Melody, Matthew, John III, Allison, Nathan, Lauren, Andrew and Noah; and five great-step grandchildren.
