Herbert "Herbie" Smith,

Herbert M. “Herbie” Smith, Sr. of Waukesha, joined his wife Beatrice (nee Stapleton) and his son Joseph P. in heaven on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the age of 78. He was born on December 26, 1933 the son of Amo and Lottie (nee Grant) Smith. Herbie enjoyed long rides (known as his rodeos), where he enjoyed looking for asparagus, counting the number of deer he saw and his nightly ride around Pewaukee Lake. He had years of loving and caring for his dog Goofy. They were inseparable until Goofy’s death. He loved sitting in his yard during the summer and the enjoyment of the lawn ornaments he collected. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sons: Robert J. (Ginny) Smith, Herbert M. (Arlene) Smith, Jr. and Robert C. Fell, his daughters: Patricia A. Smith, Karen J. Smith, Kay L. (Jimmy) Pieper and Lottie R. (Jeff) Smith. He is further survived by his brother Gordon (Margaret) Smith, Sr., 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his wife Beatrice and son Joseph, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Raymond and Roy and his granddaughter Jessica M. Wegner. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 4:00 until the 7:00PM funeral service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S.
