Hortensia Castillo

Hortensia Castillo of Waukesha passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the age of 98. She was born in Runge, Texas on November 3, 1926 the daughter of Pedro and Pabla Garza. Hortensia was a talented homemaker who devoted her life to her children and their families. She loved tending to the flowers in her yard and always ensured her house was spotless. Her greatest joy was cooking and preparing big meals for family gatherings and holidays. 

She will be sadly missed by her children, Al (Laurie) Castillo of Waukesha, Gilbert (Jo Dee Obarski) Castillo of Milwaukee, Eva Nelson of Milton, Mary Castillo of Waukesha, Gloria (the late Calvin) Kuenzi of Waukesha and Rose (Hans) Anderson of Brookfield along with 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Aurelio and daughter Virginia Hatley. 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to ProHealth Home Hospice and AngelsGrace Hospice for all the care and kindness extended to Hortensia and their family. 

Private services were held and entombment was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Waukesha.
