James “Buck” M. Bauer, DDS of Waukesha, WI and Sarasota, FL passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the age of 91. He was born in Marshfield, WI on February 19, 1926 the son of Armand and Audrey (nee Vanden Brook) Bauer. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Buck was a 1953 graduate of Marquette University’s Dental School. On December 18, 1982, he married Carol Grace. He was proud to be a longtime Waukesha dentist having his practice on Grand Ave. for many years. Buck loved cars, especially Jaguars and Corvettes and was a member of the Suncoast British Car Club and Sunshine Regional Auto Club in Sarasota, FL. He was a member of the Waukesha Optimist Club for many years and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Buck was an avid gardener, excellent cook and loved to entertain. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 34 years, Carol, his six loving children, Frederick (Amy) Bauer, Susie (James Pease) Bauer, Janis Bauer, Kathryn Ingrelli, David Bauer and Martha (Ken) Odegard, his grandchildren, Matt (Mary Bridget) Bauer, Kate Bauer, Ted Bauer, Frank Bauer, Kyle (Hope) Ingrelli, Andrew Ingrelli, Stephanie Odegard and Lauren Odegard, and his great-grandchildren, Anna, Nolan, Michael, Luca and Malcom. He is further survived by his brother Jack (Jane) Bauer, sisters Jean Bauer and Judy Holtz along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson Michael Bauer and his brother Thomas Bauer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Burial will be private for the family. A memorial Mass will take place in Sarasota, FL and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Bethesda Lutheran Communities, 600 Hoffmann Dr., Watertown, WI 53094, in honor of Buck’s grandson, Michael, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
