James C. “Jim” Murphy, of Waukesha, died on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 91. He was born on March 7, 1921 the son of James and Emeline Murphy. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. James had worked at Bell Products in Wauksha as a skilled machinist for many years. He loved trout fishing, trapping and deer hunting. He was a great handyman and enjoyed fixing and reselling lawnmowers. He was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. James was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marlene (nee Springer) Murphy of Waukesha, his children, Maxine Noyes of Tomah, James P. Murphy of Waukesha, Thomas Murphy of Eagle, Cynthia Murphy-Sayles of Genesee and Dawn (Terry Allen) Murphy-Johnson of Waukesha, seven grandchildren Dennis (Kristin) Sayles of Oconomowoc, Jennifer Johnson of Washington DC, Larry (Sadeana) Miller, Danny (Bobbie Trindal) Miller, Tammy Miller, Barbara Miller-Wilson and Andy (Natasha) Miller all of Tomah, great-grandchildren Jayden, Owen and Addison Sayles of Oconomowoc along with 18 other great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son John Charles Murphy on August 6, 2008 and his eight brothers and sisters, George, Ralph, Elizabeth Raygo, William, Daisy, Viola Stadler, Leonard and Herbert. A special thank you to the hospice care that James received, his caregivers, and to all that cared for him at the VA Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 4:00 until 7:00PM at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Saturday, July 14 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha from 9:00AM until the 10:00AM funeral service. Graveside services with full military honors will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
