James “Jim” G. Pettit, of Waukesha, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 76. He was born in Milwaukee on August 10, 1939 the son of Charles and Margie (nee Siewert) Pettit. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jim worked for W.A. Krueger for 23 years, then for Generac for 7 years, retiring in 2000. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking and being up north. Jim influenced many people, always put others before himself and gave so much to all who knew him, expecting nothing in return.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Robert (Shelly) Baird Sr. of Watertown, Ronnie (Jenny) Baird of Mukwonago, Bonnie (the late Matt) Van Wagoner of West Allis and Jennifer “Jenni Lynn” (Marcus) Tucker of Random Lake. He was the proud Papa of Tony, Brendt, Robert Jr., KayLeigh, Ryan, Valerie, Kelsie, Austin, Walker, Alexis, Jaelynn, James, Skyelar and Rylan and great-grandfather of Aryanna, Ava and Robert. He is further survived by his sisters Carla Kornuth of Appleton and Carol (Jerry) Harrington of Berlin, his brother Phillip (Karen) Pettit Sr. of Plainfield, his forever best friend Bonnie Pettit of Waukesha along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Pettit.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of AngelsGrace Hospice for their wonderful care in Jim’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the 3:00 p.m. memorial service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Full military honors will follow the service.
