James Raymond Rosenmerkel, P.E., of Waukesha died on July 4, 2019 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 80. He was born in Waukesha on February 21, 1939 to Raymond and Marie (nee Mitchell) Rosenmerkel. Jim proudly graduated from Catholic Memorial High School and Trine University. He practiced Civil Engineering, receiving Young Engineer of the Year, as well as Outstanding Professional Engineer in Construction awards. He served as President of the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers. For many years he ran a Construction Company in his spare time, hiring fellow engineers, his children and a couple of their friends.
He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed all the times with the “Moose Lake Choral and Debating Society”. He spent his later years enjoying making fly rods and fishing on Pioneer lake in Conover where he and Bobbie have a lake home.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Waukesha, and also a part-time member of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish in Eagle River, WI.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Barbara (Bobbie), daughters Beth (Scott) Bordeau, Nekoosa, WI and Martha (John) Jaeger, Kildeer, IL, sons USAF Ret. Col. Gregory (Lt. Col Linda) Rosenmerkel, Glenwood Springs, Colorado and John Rosenmerkel, New Berlin, WI. Also survived by his grandchildren Zachary (Terese) and Samantha Bordeau, Allison and Raymond Rosenmerkel and Emma, Nicole and Thomas Jaeger, and his great-grandson Oliver John. He is further survived by his sister Julanne (David) Johnson, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 9:30AM until 10:45AM, followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00AM.
