James “Jim” M. Truog, of Waukesha, died on Friday, January 14, 2022 at UW Hospital in Madison at the age of 74. He was born in Milwaukee, on May 23, 1947, the eldest son of Arthur and Dolores (nee Kohlmann) Truog. On October 10, 1970 he married the love of his life, the former Barbara Pierzchala, who devotedly survives him. Jim was a Marquette Warrior, where he received both his BA and MBA. He spent the last 25 years of his career working at Wacker Neuson. He has been a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he has been involved with Stewardship and Evangelization, Ministry to the Sick, a hospital Eucharistic Minister, Mass Planner and Lector. A few of his greatest accomplishments were completing the Último Esfuerzo to Santiago de Compostela, finishing as an official Pilgrim, running the Chicago marathon twice and in his retirement being a sought after substitute teacher in the Waukesha School District. He was a proud Eagle Scout, an incredibly knowledgeable wine collector, excellent cook and baker. And he always shared those talents.
He was the cherished husband of Barbara Truog. Devoted Dad of Jamie (Stephanie) Truog and Nicole (Phil) Jennings. Proud Poppi of Julia, Luke and John Truog. Loving dog daddy to Betto and Ziva. Brother of Terry (Tim) Wood and Tom (Pam) Truog. Further survived by cherished friends and colleagues from around the world, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Joan Truog, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bill (Kathy), Dan, Art and sister Mary.
Unending gratitude to the UW Health Cardiac Transplant Team, nurses and other caregivers who fought valiantly to give us hope.
