James H. Lavine, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Brookfield Rehabilitation at the age of 90. He was born on February 25, 1927, in Milwaukee, to Olga Lavine. He was a 1945 graduate of Waukesha High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii during World War II. On July 2, 1949 he married Mary L. (nee Stewart) Lavine. James was a member of the American Legion D.J. Martin Post 8.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, of Waukesha, along with their children James R. Lavine of Waukesha, Robert S. (Judy) Lavine of Waukesha, Claire Sayles of Waukesha, Mark D. (Traci) Lavine of Hubertus and Bruce W. Lavine of Oconomowoc. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2nd from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha. Burial with full military honors will take place on Friday, March 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials in James name are appreciated to the Stars & Stripes Honor Flight, P.O.
