Sercombe, James E., Jr., age 70, of Big Bend, died Sat., March 30, 2013 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born on Sept. 4, 1942, in Milwaukee, the son of James E. and Laura (nee Odea) Sercombe. He proudly served his country from 1960-1964 in the U.S. Air Force, where he was an air traffic controller. He has been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Big Bend, a dedicated member of the Muskego American Legion Post 356, where he had served as Vice Commander and on the executive committee. For many years he had worked for Nabisco, Inc., and most recently as a proud greeter at Walmart in Muskego. He was past president of Milwaukee Grocery Manufacturers Representatives.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years Shirley (nee Kleppin) of Big Bend, along with their son Jamie (Laura) Sercombe of Madison. Proud grandfather of Evan, Tia and Brynn. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Betty (David) Sippel of New Berlin, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Sid.
Visitation will be held on Fri., Apr. 5 from 9:30-11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, S89 W22650 Milwaukee Ave., Big Bend. The funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 Noon with Fr. Dick Robinson presiding. A private burial will take place at Vernon Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to American Legion Post 356, P.O.
