James “Jim” M. Walker, a resident of New Berlin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 26, 1937, in Waukesha, the son of Earl and Constance (nee McMurchie) Walker. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Navy.
On November 17, 1957, he married his beloved wife, Patricia (nee Drabek), and together they have been longtime members of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Jim had a love for sports and cherished attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and taking car rides with his wife, Patricia. Throughout his career as a meat cutter and through his enthusiasm for rummaging, Jim formed many meaningful friendships.
He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 67 years, Patricia, and their children: Debbie (John) Crawford, Pam (Tom) Buerger, and Jim (Claudia) Walker. Jim is also survived by his grandchildren: Kari (Kevin) Tapper, Kyle (Rebecca) Buerger, Nick (Amber) Buerger, Tricia (Angelo) LaFratta, Brianne (Scott) Frechette, and JJ (Megan) Crawford, as well as 13 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Pat (the late Bill) Betzolt, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Judie (Jim) Propp.
Private services will be held for the family, with entombment taking place at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, located at 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186 or to the American Cancer Society.
