Jane Ann Banaszak, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on May 28, 1945 the daughter of Harold and Dora (nee Jones) Rubeck. Jane was a graduate of Marquette University where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Technology. She worked at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for 25 years as a Medical Technologist. Jane loved Irish Wolfhounds and was very active in the Irish Wolfhound Club of America where she served as treasurer for many years. She enjoyed playing cribbage and sheepshead, enjoyed sewing, knitting, watching Jeopardy, doing crossword puzzles, fishing up north and traveling with her family. Jane loved the NCAA Basketball Tournament and filling in her brackets and enjoyed attending her daughters’ sporting events. Most of all Jane cherished the time she spent with her family and she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of almost 35 years, Gregory Banaszak of Waukesha and their daughters, Katie (Tyson) Wenger of Eagle and Laura (Matt) Weimer of Lisbon. She is the proud grandmother of Rylee Wenger and Brayden Weimer. She is further survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to many people for their kindness and care provided to Jane including: the nurses and staff of the ICU at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Dr. Michelle Agnew, Dr. Marci Kessen, the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Outpatient Department and Waukesha Surgical Associates.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 10:00AM until the time of the 12:00 noon funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Father Howard Haase will preside. Private family interment will be held on Thursday at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Jane’s name are appreciated to the Irish Wolfhound Foundation, to Waukesha Memorial Hospital Home Care or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church (address above).
