Jean V. Scrima, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, August 18, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends at the age of 88. She was born on September 23, 1922 in Milton, WI to Lewis and Evelyn (nee Hammes) Crandall. She was a 1941 graduate of Waukesha High School. She was a charter member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was an active member of the St. Mary’s Christian Women and Study Club. Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by her children: Kathryn Copenhaver of Auburn, CA, Ralph Scrima of Waukesha, Leonard (Athena) Scrima of Waukesha, Robert (Jill) Scrima of Manor, TX and her “number 4 son” Steve Rucci of Pewaukee. She is further survived by her grandchildren Karen, Diane, Donna, Julie, Shannon, Anthony and Nicole; many great-grandchildren; her brother Lewis Crandall of South Beloit along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony on Jan. 17, 1975, her sister Virginia Gardinier and her sister-in-law Phyllis Crandall. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church (address above).
