Joan Love Marzocco (nee Meyer), a lifelong Waukesha resident, was peacefully called to Heaven on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Care-Age of Brookfield at the age of 80. She was born in Waukesha on February 24, 1935 the only child of Melvin and Marion (nee Love) Meyer and was a graduate of Marquette University. Joan was the owner of Soft Water Inc., a family business that was started by her parents in 1946. Joan loved Saddlebred horses and was a longstanding member and supporter of the American Saddlebred Association of Wisconsin. She was a longtime and active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Joan touched many people throughout her life and had a special way about her making her loved by many people in the community. She will always be remembered as a beloved mother and grandmother.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Leanne Olson of Waukesha and DeeDee (Steve) Mackie of Waukesha. She was the cherished grandmother of Stephanie (Johnny) Rodgers of Chicago, IL, Jake (Jenny) Olson of Gilbert, AZ and Sam, Will and Adam Mackie of Waukesha. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family graveside services were held at Prairie Home Cemetery on Thursday. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held May 18, 2015 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Paschal Candle Fund (address above) or to The American Saddlebred Museum, 4083 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511.
