Joanne “Jan” Crooks a lifelong Waukesha resident passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born in Waukesha on February 19, 1932 the daughter of August and Florence (nee Bellin) Parson. On February 28, 1953 she married her beloved husband Richard “Dick” Crooks; he preceded her in death on November 26, 2006. Jan worked as a bookkeeper for the Gascoigne Company and later for her husband who founded Dick Crooks Electric. Jan was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Linda Crooks of Land O Lakes, FL, Andrew (Debra) Crooks of Deltona, FL and Gene (Sherrie) Crooks of Saltillo, MS; her grandchildren, Kara Rock, Tylor Crooks (Amanda), Ryan Crooks, Charlotte Stegall (Hayden) and Carson Crooks and great-grandchildren Christopher Tyler Kirby (Samara), Sawyer, Addy, Mabry, Kendall and great-great grandchild Jack. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Dick, she was preceded in death by her sister Jane (Nicholas) Hilt and brothers John (Frances) Parson and Joel (Patricia) Parson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Saturday, March 1st at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186 from 10:00am until the 11:00am funeral service. Graveside services will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery and with a light lunch following at church. If desired, memorials are appreciated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
