Joanne R. Erickson

Joanne R. Erickson of Waukesha died on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 88. She was born in Mattoon, Wisconsin on September 10, 1935, the daughter of Earl and Leona (nee Becker) Weyenberg. On June 5, 1954 she married her beloved husband, Clayton Erickson; he preceded her in death on August 26, 2019. Joanne was a very active member of the New Berlin Historical Society where she also served as the tour director and was a 64-year member of St. Mary Catholic Church. 

She will be sadly missed by her children, Anna Doll of Waukesha, and Paul Clay (Christy) Erickson of Marshfield; cherished grandchildren, Emily Fincher and Matthew Erickson and dear great-grandchildren Jeffery and Dylan Fincher. She is further survived by her sister Janet Pogrant; sister-in-law Sharon Weyenberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband of 65 years, Clayton, she was preceded in death by her treasured grandson, Michael Doll and siblings, James Weyenberg, and Sally Kolpack.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 12:00 noon until the funeral Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joanne’s name are appreciated to the New Berlin Historical Society (19885 W. National Ave., New Berlin, WI 53146.
