Joel R. Parson, of Waukesha, died on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by family at the age of 76. He was born in Waukesha on June 13, 1939 the son of August and Florence (nee Bellin) Parson.
Joel was a 1957 graduate of Waukesha High School and proudly served his country in the United States Airforce from 1957 until 1962. On November 18, 1961 he married Patricia Mulroy while in the service in Liverpool, England. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering from UW-Milwaukee and his MBA Degree from UW-Whitewater.
Joel was a goal orientated individual always striving for and achieving the best, he quickly moved through the ranks at Waukesha Foundry and Grede Foundry and was a member of the Foundry Association. He worked as a consulting for Lester B. Knight and Associates, which provided an opportunity to run foundries all over the world. He then took a job President/CEO of Golden Castings in Columbus, Indiana. Shortly after, Joel and Patricia purchased a beautiful house on a lake in Columbus, IN where they would spend much of their time enjoying life and family.
Joel was a world traveler and visited virtually every corner of the world. While Joel accomplished much in his life, he will always be best remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of almost 54 years, Patricia Parson of Waukesha and their children, Kelly (Tim) Hazelton of Waukesha, Paulette (John) Brazil of Milwaukee and Joel (Missi) Parson of Waukesha. He was the dear grandfather of Tim and Kathryn Hazelton and Krysta and Katelyn Parson. He is further survived by John (Paulette) Brazil’s children Nick and Katie Brazil, his sisters Joanne (the late Richard) Crooks of Waukesha, Jane (the late Nick) Hilt of Waukesha and Fran Parson of Waukesha and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Parson.
Services will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery Chapel, 605 S. Prairie Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186, Friday, October 30, 2015 from Noon to 1:30 p.m. with grave site service at 1:30 p.m.
