John G. Kraak, DDS of Waukesha passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 20, 2021 at his home at the age of 80. He was born in Milwaukee on April 30, 1941, the only child of Gilbert and Pearl (nee Zimmermann) Kraak.
John was a graduate of UW-Milwaukee and the Marquette University Dental School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany. Following his time in the military he earned his periodontal specialty from the University of California-San Francisco. John led a successful career as a periodontist at his office in Wauwatosa. He adored dogs, enjoyed the stock market and investing and appreciated a glass of red wine. John was an intelligent, kind and thorough man who will be lovingly remembered as wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Cheryl (nee Gerlach) and their two sons, Eric Kraak of Waukesha and Michael (Erin) Kraak of Delafield. He was the proud grandfather of Mason, Madeline, Colin and Dillon. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Diana Gerlach, his nieces, Andrea, Samantha, and Jordana, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Roger Gerlach.
