John F. Horton

John F. Horton of Pewaukee passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017 surrounded by his family at AngelsGrace Hospice at age 76. He was born in Waukesha on August 28, 1940 the son of Myron and Gladys (nee Brown) Horton. On November 17, 1962, he married Patricia Szczepanski at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha. John loved the outdoors, especially camping, hunting and fishing and going to his cabin in the woods where he enjoyed the peacefulness and quietness of nature. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, but above all he cherished the time he spent with his family. John will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Patricia of Pewaukee and their three sons, David (Carmen) Horton of Fond du Lac, Matthew (Lori) Horton of Eagle and Mark (Michelle) Horton of Muskego. He was the proud grandfather of Alicia and Bailey Horton and Madelyn and Luke Horton. He is further survived by his brother Donald (Arlene) Horton of Milwaukee, his sister-in-law Gloria Szczepanski, his brother-in-law Kenneth Szczepanski along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mildred Schmitz, his brother Wesley Horton, his brother-in-law Robert Szczepanski and sister-in-law Joyce Solomone.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 25th at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35 W23360 Capitol Drive, Pewaukee, WI 53072. Please meet at the church. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name are appreciated to AngelsGrace Hospice, N74 W35908 Servants’ Way Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
