John B. “Jack” Mathie, of Waukesha, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. He was born on May 12, 1934 in Waukesha, the son of Robert and Hilda (nee Bendig). He was a 1952 graduate of Waukesha High School. He had worked at Ladwig as a draftsman and had been Vice President at H & K, retiring in 1997. On December 26, 1973 he married Kay (nee Nelsen) Mathie, she preceded him in death on May 20, 2007. Jack was a longtime member of First Congregational UCC and was very involved with the church as a board member, moderator and always helped with The Historic Pancake Supper.
He will be sadly missed by his children Pam (Robert) Bowman of CA, Linda Koconis of Waukesha, Ronda (Donald) Farina of Park Falls and J. Scott (Becca) Mathie of Waukesha. Dear grandfather of Katie and Megan Bowman of CA, Tyler and Trevor Farina of Park Falls and Maggie and Isla Mathie of Waukesha. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Terry.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 5:00 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. funeral service at First Congregational UCC, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha. The Rev. Brittany Barber presiding. Private burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Jack’s name are appreciated to the Salvation Army, 445 Madison St. Waukesha, WI 53188.
