Joseph (known by half as “Joe” and half as “Bill”) Madden, 80, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, was born to eternal life on October 18, 2014. He was born August 2, 1934 in Elgin, Illinois to Joseph and Marie (nee: Green) Madden. He was a member of the first graduating class of Catholic Memorial High School and after high school proudly served his country during the Korean War from 1954 to 1957 in the United States Air Force. On September 26, 1959, he married Patricia E. Fuller. They were married for 33 years and remained life-long friends. Together they had four children: Timothy (Kim) of Lake Forest, CA, William of Muskego, Daniel of Mukwonago, and Kathleen (Chris Tordik) Madden of Ottawa. He was the proudest grandfather to Matthew Madden, Michael Madden, Brandon Tordik, Benjamin Tordik, Danielle Madden, Mayson Madden, Jerrid Madden, Chelsea Madden and Jimmy Madden.
Joe was a gifted tile setter and tree “surgeon”. He was a proud veteran and a proud Irishman who enjoyed playing Euchre and poker his entire life with family and friends. More than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Joe is further survived by his loving brother-in-law Bill Ponn (CA), cousin Jimmy Zange (IL), and many special nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gorden “Jack” Madden, sister Joni Ponn, and brother Mike Madden.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 4 pm until the 7 pm funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. Deacon Scott Campbell will preside. Graveside services will be held at St. Peter Cemetery in East Troy on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11 am.
