Joseph R. Geason, of Hartland, was born to eternal life on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the age of 67 due to heart complications. He was born in 1948 in Oconomowoc, the son of Richard and Rose (nee Brandt) Geason. In 1972 he married Maralyn Cartwright at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waukesha. Joe was a third generation family farmer who worked side-by-side with his family on their Hartland dairy farm. Later in life he worked in commercial real estate and served as a volunteer on a number of local community projects. Joe loved to travel and fly to his destinations via his small private plane (a Tecnam). He was also a private flight instructor, having started his flying career as an instructor at Spring City Aviation in Waukesha when he was 18. Joe volunteered with Mercy Flights, flying medical patients. His strength and beliefs came from his daily reading of the Bible. Joe was a missionary to Peru and the Santisimo Sacramento Church, he believed it was important to serve the Lord in his everyday life. He has been a longtime member of St. Anthony on the Lake Church.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Maralyn, of Hartland, along with their children Lisa (Michael) Geason-Bauer of Oconomowoc, Thomas Geason of Greeley, CO and Catherine Geason of Hartland. Dear brother of John (Carolyn) Geason of Hartland and Cecilia Farran of Spring Green, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many beloved friends.
