Joseph “Joe” James Cornwall, Sr., passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2024 at the age of 62.

Joe was born December 17, 1961 in Milwaukee to James “Jim” Cornwall and Roberta “Bobbie” (Hall) Mirenda.

Joe was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Beirut Conflict in the early 1980s. Upon returning to Wisconsin, he settled down in Waukesha, where he met his bride. He and Shauna (nee Gates) married on January 5, 1991. They welcomed a daughter, Kirstin, later that year. Their family became complete when their son, Joey, was born six years later.

Joe was a devoted family man, with many finely-honed skills, interests and hobbies. There wasn’t a car he could not fix, a home improvement project too big or a Packer game he would miss. He will be most remembered by the countless relationships he nurtured and his many acts of kindness. We will best honor him when we do the same.

Joe is survived by his wife, Shauna, his children Kirstin and Joey; his sister Liz (Mike) Klug; nieces Morgan and Dorian, nephew Carter; step-sisters Bonnie (Mike) Kroner, Beth (Jason) Stone and Bridgette (Mike) Hoye; and his beloved Pomapoo companion, Bear. Joe is preceded in death by his parents.

All are invited to join us to remember and celebrate Joe at the very church he faithfully worshipped for decades. Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd at Bridge Church, located at 1314 S. Grand Ave in Waukesha, WI. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am, with the service at Noon. Lunch and fellowship to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made in support of the Ethnos 360 Bible Institute renovations. Donors can add the word, “renovations” to designate their gift. https://ethnos360.org/projects/ethnos360-bible-institute-give
