Joseph "Joe" Piagentini, age 84 of Mukwonago, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 30, 1923 in Pershing, Iowa, the son of Amos and Mary (nee: Luanardi) Piagentini. He graduated from Attica High School in Attica, Iowa, and married Phyllis Applegate on April 20, 1946 in Chicago. Joe was a WWII Army Air Force veteran, and was employed as a supervisor for Hein-Werner for many years before retirement. Along with having 7 children of their own, Joe and Phyllis also touched the lives of 47 foster children over 20 years. In what spare time he could find, he also enjoyed gardening and furniture upholstering. Joe will be sadly missed by his wife, Phyllis of Mukwonago; three sons: Richard (Patricia) of Wales, Martin (Roxanne) of Muskego, and David of Waukesha; two daughters: Susan (Curt) Krohn of Mukwonago, and Brenda (Jason) Tetzlaff of Waukesha; 10 grandchildren: Kelly (Jay) Cavaiani, Angela (Shane) Kitzan, Eric (Cheri) Terrizzi, Melissa Ekholm, Ryan (Stephanie) Huckstorf, Rhonda Huckstorf, Caidlena Krohn, Levi Krohn, Tyson Tetzlaff, and Trae Tetzlaff; 12 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Abigail and Caleb Cavaiani; Ryan and Sophia Kitzan; Owen and Ethan Terrizzi; Austin Ekholm; Kiley, Savannah and Isabella Huckstorf; and Jaxon Lawrence; one brother, Dino (Donna) Piagentini; other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by one son, Timothy Kerns Piagentini; one daughter, Barbara Sue Piagentini; one sister, Rosie Piagentini; one brother, Sam Piagentini; and his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2007 from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM funeral service at Westbrooke Wesleyan Church, 21300 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin, WI 53146. Rev. Scott Smith and Rev. Jerry Krupp will officiate. Interment will take place in Prairie Home Cemetery.
