Josephine “Josie” A. Meola of Waukesha was born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Seasons Hospice at the age of 86. She was born in Dousman, WI on May 14, 1932 the daughter of Leo and Edith (nee Stone) Simonis. On May 14, 1955 she married her beloved husband Nick Meola. Josie was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She delighted in being a homemaker and will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Nick of Waukesha and their cherished children, Mike (Peggy) Meola of Jacksonville, FL, Steve Meola of Waukesha, Ann (Gary) Sanderson of Waukesha and Joseph (Sherry) Meola of Manitowoc. She was the proud grandmother of Jennifer, Alex, Trevor, Shauna, Nicholas, Maddie and Sofia and three great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Barbara (The late Richard) Haessig, Ken (Barb) Simonis, Frances (Jim) Oldenhoff and Terry (Darrel) Oldenhoff along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Chu and Dr. Agnew at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for their amazing care and kindness.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Fr. Howard Haase will preside. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials in Josie’s name are appreciated to St. Mary Catholic Church.
