Joyce E. Palmer, a longtime Waukesha resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at AngelsGrace Hospice, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the age of 86. She was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on September 26, 1930, the daughter of Otto and Dena (nee Schultz) Peterson. On October 9, 1954, she married Donald L. Palmer. Joyce loved to crochet, making many blankets for her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, going to the casino, birds, was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Joyce was a huge fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching the games on TV along with watching the game show network. She had a way with her words and had a great sense of humor. Most of all, Joyce found great joy when she was with her family and especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is loved and will be deeply missed by many. She was the beloved wife to Donald for nearly 63 years, loving mother to her daughters, Charlene (Mike “Radar”) Radle of Menomonie, Karen (Allen) Schamens of Waukesha and Peggy (James) Ribbens of Waukesha and her son, David (Bet) Palmer of Waukesha. She was the cherished grandma to Lori (Ritchie) Hudson, Lisa (Bill) Casper, Rhonda (Dan) Hough, Cory (Matthew Lorbiecki) Schamens, Dena (Chad) Krueger, Thomas Ribbens, Sarah (Nick) Stacey, Duane (Cathy) Palmer and Michelle (Adam) Delzer, great-grandma to Kolten, Kurtis, Alisun, Owen, David, Jaxon, Emma, Brayden, Beckam, Camryn and Drew, and recently became a great-great-grandma to Izaiah. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Clinton Raymond Storlie and her brothers and sisters, Pete, Ward, Helen, Dorothy, Clarice, Irene, Margaret and Ora.
Visitation for Joyce will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Entombment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
