Joyce Winchell

Joyce Winchell, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at home, surrounded by her family.  She was 81 years old.  She was born on July 30, 1928 in Green Bay, the daughter of Myron and Exilda (nee:  Harris) Schroeder.  She graduated from DePere High School in 1946 and from Carroll College in 1950, where she majored in music.  While at Carroll she met F.R. (Bob) Winchell and they were married on September 9, 1950.  Joyce was an Elder and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha.  Over the years she was a choir member, youth choir director and bell choir director.  She was a longtime member of the Practical Club and a volunteer and driver for Meals on Wheels for 35 years.  She loved music and flowers.  Joyce’s life centered on her family, her home and her church.  She was a devout Christian and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.  The world is a better place for her having been here.  Through it all and above all was family; love unfailing and grace divine.  For that we are forever grateful.    Joyce is survived by her husband Bob of Waukesha, three loved and loving daughters:  Barbara Klemp of Milwaukee, Susan (Todd) Kurth of Duluth, MN and Ellen (Charles) Miller of Greenwood, IN, and three equally precious grandchildren:  Alexandra, Nathaniel and Charles Miller.  She is further survived by her sister-in-law Mary (George) Brucks of Brookfield, and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her brother Bruce, as well as by her parents.  Visitation will take place on Friday, November 6 from 10:00 am until the 1:00 pm Memorial Service at First Presbyterian Church, 810 N. East Ave. Waukesha, WI  53186.
