Judith "Judy" A. Franke

Judith “Judy” Ann Franke a longtime Waukesha resident died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Elmbrook Hospital at the age of 78. She was born in Sheboygan on October 25, 1939 the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Nee Henze) Kasey. Judy worked for the YMCA, as the secretary to the Dean of Students at MATC and proudly ran Judy & Friends. As the tour director of Judy & Friends she was able to fulfill her love of travel and seeing the world. She enjoyed crocheting and taught crochet lessons throughout the area. Judy was a longtime member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha and the Red Hat Society.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Kay (Jim) Kertscher of Howards Grove and Jody (Scott) Cahala of Pewaukee, her grandchildren CJ Cahala and Kyle and McKayla Kertscher and her brother David M. Kasey of Prairie du Chien. She is further survived by Eh th’Blay Paw and Paw Pa Soe who Judy mentored after their journey to America through Ascension Lutheran Church along with other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to everyone who has helped Judy over the last several years. Your kindness and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until time of the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp Street, Waukesha, WI 53188. Pastor Chris Marien will preside. Interment will be private. Memorials in Judy’s name are appreciated to Ascension Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice.
