Julian "Red" Ray Rogness formerly of Waukesha died on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital under the care of Horizon Hospice at the age of 90. He was born in Jackson County, Wisconsin on May 15, 1929 the son of Ludwig and Amanda (nee Gunderson) Rogness. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Julian worked for many years as a truck driver. He was a well-known man throughout town.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Ray (the late Eleanor) Rogness of New Berlin, Doug (Sharon) Rogness of Waukesha, Jean Lisney of Richland Center, Cheryl (Rudy) Nigl of Stoddard and Pamela (Mike) Harris of Viola, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his 8 brothers and sisters as well as by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 12 noon until time of the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Private interment with full military honors will be at North Beaver Creek Cemetery in Black River Falls at a later date.
