Karen F. Kania, formerly of Greendale, died on August 24, 2022 at Kensington Care and Rehab. in Waukesha at the age of 84. She was born on November 30, 1937, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Raymond C. and Angeline C. (nee Tarkowski) Miller. Karen was widowed with three small children at the age of 27. Dick was the love of her life, and she never remarried. She loved to dance to Motown and 50’s music, she was a great cook and loved cooking for family and friends for holidays and barbecues. She was especially fond of Milwaukee Brewers baseball. Karen could talk to anyone, and loved meeting new people when she was out. She lived in Florida, Nevada, and Missouri before coming back to Wisconsin.
She is survived by her children Dawn (James) Kirley of Oconomowoc, Scott (Jeanette) Kania of Philadelphia, PA, and Douglas (Xu) Kania of Las Vegas, NV. Dear grandmother of Megan Kania, Breanna (J.P.) Skinner and Brendan Kirley. She is further survived by her siblings Sheila Miller, Bruce Miller, Bradley (Kathleen) Miller and Cynthia (James) Pepper, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard T. Kania and brother Bryan Miller.
Graveside services will take place on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 10:00AM at Wood National Cemetery, 5000 W. National Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53295. Please meet at Bldg. 1301.
