Karen J. Thompson of Sullivan, formerly of Waukesha, died on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age of 79. She was born in Waukesha on July 1, 1939 the daughter of Jacob and Margaret (nee Dahms) Graser. On July 28, 1956 she married her husband Neil A. Thompson at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church; he preceded her in death on April 18, 2005. Karen enjoyed arts and crafts, taking road-trips and traveling and loved watching movies. She was a great cook and a huge fan of Elvis. Most of all she cherished the time she was with her family and will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her children, John (Sue) Thompson of Sullivan, Lisa (Roger) Johnson of Jefferson, Thomas (Holly) Thompson of Sacramento, CA and Tamara (Tony) Bauer of Hustisford, her grandchildren, John (Brenda) Thompson Jr., Carrie Mindemann, Dan (Jessica) Hughes, Matthew (Brittany) Thompson, Justin Johnson, Tylor Johnson, Rebecca Johnson and Nick Gonzales, great-grandchildren Brittany, Rita, Dakota, Eric, Alyssa, Nola, Evelyn and Easton and great-great-grandchild Aveah. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Beverly Sweetland, twin brother Kenneth (Shinobu) Graser, Dale (Debbie) Graser, Jacob (Sharon) Graser and Cynthia (Mark) Faust, sister-in-law Sally Graser, lifelong friend Louise Ford along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Neil, she was preceded in death by her son Jeffery Scott in 1959, her sisters Gloria Smith and Marilyn Turks and brothers, Arvid and Richard Graser.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Karen’s name are appreciated to the family.
