Kenneth "Coach" J. Hollub

Kenneth J. Hollub “Coach”, a longtime Waukesha teacher and coach, died on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at AngelsGrace Hospice at age 88. He was born in Oshkosh on November 20, 1927 the son of Herman and Emma (nee Robl) Hollub. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Ken was a graduate of Oshkosh High School and earned his teaching degree in Physical Education from UW-Lacrosse and his Master’s Degree from UW-Milwaukee. He began his career in Lacrosse where he was an assistant coach and teacher for 3 years. He married the love of his life, Earline Geffers and they moved to Waukesha in 1955 where Ken started teaching Physical Education at Waukesha High School, now Waukesha South High School. In 1976, Ken became Athletic Director at Waukesha South until his retirement in 1988. Ken touched the lives of all he knew. To know him was to love him.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife who he knew for 76 years, Earline of Waukesha and their children, Gregory (Diane) Hollub of Neenah, Debra (James) Surges of East Troy, David (Trudy) Hollub of Sauk City, Dana (Robert) Dabroski of Hustisford and Darcy Hollub of Waukesha. He was the dear grandfather of Paul (Diane) Hollub, Tari (Scott) Albrecht, Jamie (Hilton) Clarke, Zachary Surges, Eric Hollub, Nick (Claire) Vogg, Allison and David Dabroski, Ashley (Erick Wills) Becker and Haley (fiancé Christian Fish), Kelsey and Colten Whitehouse and great-grandfather of Matthew, Alex and Abigal Hollub, Jack, Tyler, Emma and Wilm Albrecht and Jackson Wills. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Francis Larry along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Bernice Hollub, Harold and Russell Hollub and Loraine Larry.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the auditorium of Waukesha South High School, 401 E. Roberta Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. The memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the school. (Please enter at the Roberta Street entrance.) Private interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
