Kenneth "Ken" Tomfohrde

Kenneth R. “Ken” Tomfohrde, a lifetime Waukesha resident died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his home at the age of 68. He was born in Waukesha on February 9, 1944 the son of Arnold and Mabel (nee Elger) Tomfohrde. Ken was a 1962 graduate of Waukesha South High School. He worked for ETW, Inc. for 45 years retiring in 2007. He was a longtime member of Reformation Lutheran Church. Ken loved to hunt and fish and was a volunteer Hunter Safety Instructor for over 25 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. He enjoyed playing Sheepshead every Wednesday with the Golden Agers at the Schuetze Building in Waukesha. He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and will always be remembered for being a jokester.  He will be forever missed by his wife of 48 years Mary (nee Skoug) Tomfohrde of Waukesha, their three sons: Scott (Jill) Tomfohrde of Pewaukee, Dave (Katie) Tomfohrde of Katy, TX and Rick (Michele) Tomfohrde of Eagle, and his five grandchildren, Nicole, Patrick, Alyssa, Samantha and Jacob Tomfohrde. He is further survived by his sister Nancy (Bob) Zak of Glendale, AZ, his sisters-in-law Mary Skoug of Waukesha, Dorothy (Ken) Smith of Pewaukee, Betty (Frank) Eckstein of Mukwonago, Joan (Bill) Barker of Wales and Sharon (Tom) Metko of Wales, his brother-in-law Charles (Donna) Skoug of Oconomowoc along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Don Skoug. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Thursday, June 14 from 12:00 noon until the 1:00PM funeral service at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Avenue, Waukesha. Reverend Wayne Meier and Rev.
