Kenneth F. Pollatz of Waukesha, died on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Linden Grove in Waukesha at the age of 95. He was born in Mellen, WI on October 29, 1920, the son of Arthur and Alice (nee Kennedy) Pollatz. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army 836th Engineer Aviation Battalion on the Islands of the Southwest Pacific in World War II.
Ken married Shirley Ehlke on April 15, 1950. They belonged to the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ. He retired after more than thirty years with the United States Postal Service. He was a lifetime member of the Soat-Vergenz VFW Post #721 and the American Legion D.J. Martin Post #8, and Past President of the Waukesha Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary (Dale) Stieglbauer of Waukesha and Cindy (Robert) Blakely of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and his grandchildren Jared (Stefanie) Stieglbauer, Leah (Kyle) Tennessen, Lydia and Abigail Blakely. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, their three infant children, his siblings, and his second wife, Ethel Richards.
A prayer service in celebration of Ken’s life and interment with full military honors will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery on Friday, July 22nd at 10:15 am. Please meet at the cemetery.
