Lacey Tandy Ballmann, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at her home with her beloved daughters at her side at the age of 87. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 17, 1926 the daughter of Cyrus and Ruth (nee Lacey) Tandy. Lacey was a lover of animals and was an avid reader and supporter of the Waukesha Public Library. She was raised in Kentucky where she graduated from Transylvania University and soon after married Richard Ballmann, the man of her dreams. They started their family together and several years later moved to Waukesha. Lacey always remained a true “southern belle” with her sweet nature, generous heart and exuberant love of life.
She will be sadly missed by her three daughters who cherished her; Betsy and Peggy Ballmann of Waukesha and Missy McFarlane of Antigo; her precious granddaughter, Amanda (Matt) Gliszczinski; and her great-grandchildren, Kierra Walker, and Dominick and Addelyn Gliszczinski. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Constance Chambers and family of Tulsa, OK along with other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Ballmann, her daughter Barbara Ballmann, her sister Ruth “Betsy” Tandy and brother Cyrus Tandy Jr.
A memorial service to celebrate Lacey’s life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 5:00PM at First Presbyterian Church, 810 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Rev. Nicole Farley will preside. A reception and fellowship will follow the service at the church.
