Larry O. Anklam, of Sullivan, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Summit at the age of 70. He was born on June 29, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of Ervin F. and Solveig (nee Peterson) Anklam. He was a graduate of Marion High School. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On December 8, 1969 he married the former Kay Schoemann. He had worked as a machinist at Denco, Parameters Industries and Trace O Matic. He also did maintenance work at Walmart, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved dogs.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Kay, of Sullivan, along with their children Guy (Gail) Anklam of Waukesha, Michelle (Jeff) Barnecott of Sullivan and Steve (Kristen) Anklam of Oshkosh. Dear grandfather of Tyler Barnecott, Lexi Barnecott, Joseph Anklam, Adeline Anklam and Ruby Ann Anklam. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters Arnold (Barbara) Anklam of West Bend, Karen (Dennis) Leyer of Milwaukee, Nancy (the late Richard) Ulrichsen of Marion, WI and John (Spring) Anklam of Austin, TX, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
No formal services will be held. Burial with full military honors will take place at Good Hope Cemetery at a later date. Memorials in Larry’s name are appreciated to the Waukesha Co.
