Larry Troemel

Lawrence C. “Larry” Troemel died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 81 years. He was born on August 18, 1942, the son of Charles and Julia (nee Hopp) Troemel. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. On May 24, 1969 he married the former Barbara Hartel in West Allis. He was a computer technician at IBM and later at American Family Insurance. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Village of Waukesha for 41 years. He was a member of the SCCA Car Club teching cars for racing, IBM Breakfast Club, Menomonee Falls Gun Club and a founding member of the Ridge Road Retreat Hunting Camp. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, yardwork, woodworking and was a great cook. He had a passion for dogs, especially Beagles, Golden Retrievers and his granddog Hannah Banana.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Barb, along with their children Rebecca Troemel and Michael (Collean) Troemel and his brother Dennis (Judy) Troemel. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
