Laura L. Skemp

Laura L. Skemp “Dolly” (nee Kapalczynski) found peace on Tuesday, June 12th, 2018 at the age of 84 due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael G. Skemp. Loving mother of Michael J. (Kathy) Skemp and Michelle A. (Bob) Latzel. Treasured grandmother of Brieanna, Brittany, and Brooke Skemp and Laurén, Shayne and Tristan Latzel. Special Aunt of Kerry Skemp. Further survived by her siblings, other relatives and friends.
Laura met her husband at UW-LaCrosse in 1952. They were married until his passing in 1990. She spent close to 30 years teaching physical education, the majority of that time in the New Berlin Public Schools System. In the later stages of her disease Laura was tended to primarily by her daughter, Michelle Latzel. Her loving care allowed Laura to remain in her home where she was comfortable and familiar.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until time of the 11:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Bruno Parish, 226 W. Ottawa Avenue, Dousman, WI 53118. Fr. Dan Volkert will preside. Private interment at Catholic Cemetery of La Crosse. Memorials to YMCA Pabst Farms Special Olympics in Oconomowoc WI, or a charity of your choice.
