Laurel J. Alyea

Laurel J. Alyea of Geneva, IL, formerly of San Carlos, CA passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the age of 91. She was born in Grant County, Wisconsin on February 20, 1933 the daughter of Guy and Katherine Huff. On May 29, 1968 she married John “Jack” Alyea and they moved to San Carlos, CA; he preceded her in death on October 22, 2012. Laurel was a philanthropist, giving generously to many different organizations. She enjoyed playing the piano and gardening but her greatest passion was tennis and she successfully played until age 88. 

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Diane (James) Komes and her father Fred Davis; her grandchildren, Danielle (Bill) Dodson, Neil Ruiz, Heather Komes, James Komes Jr., and Rita Komes along with many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother James (Sue) Huff; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Huff Jindra. 

A visitation for Laurel will take place on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home located at 1110 S. Grand Ave starting from 12:00 PM (noon) until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
