Laurence “Larry” L. Whipps of Wisconsin Dells and Waukesha, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the age of 62. He was born in Waukesha on May 30, 1954 the son of George and Judith Ann (nee Klemp) Whipps. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Larry worked for Skinner Transfer Corp. as a truck driver where he was a member of the 3-million mile club of safe, accident free driving. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting down trees. He also enjoyed gardening and farming and taking care of his chickens.
He is survived by his wife Gosia Whipps, his step-children Kasia (George) Smolinski and Aga Sron, grandson Matthew, his brother John Whipps, his sister Georgia Harmon (nee Whipps), his nephews, Christopher Hanson and David Hanson, nieces, Amanda Hanson and Elise Graser and great-niece Madalynn Peters. He is further survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues Friday, March 24th at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 10:30 a.m. funeral service. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Memorials to the family are appreciated.
