Lauretta E. Huenink, of Waukesha, died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove at the age of 94. She was born in Glidden, WI on June 17, 1919 the daughter of Roy and Una (nee Harding) Wiedenhoeft. Lauretta was a 1937 graduate of Waukesha High School. On June 14, 1947 she married Myrle Huenink; he preceded her in death on October 11, 2010. She worked as a legal secretary for Attorney Love and then as the church secretary for 22 years at First Presbyterian Church retiring in 1980. Following her retirement Myrle and Lauretta moved to Florida. Lauretta was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 80 years where she was very involved and a member of the Rebekah Circle. Lauretta loved to read poetry and loved her job at First Presbyterian Church. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her son Richard (Gladys) Huenink of Waukesha, her daughter Kathleen (Kurt) Debus of East Dundee, IL, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her cousin and best friend Rosemary Duwel of Waukesha along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Myrle, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Fredrick and her sister Rosalind.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:00AM funeral service all held at First Presbyterian Church, 810 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Rev. Nicole Farley will preside. A private family interment will follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery. If desired, memorials are appreciated to the church.
