Laurie Olson

August 5, 1961 — July 12, 2024

Laurie J. Olson passed away at AngelsGrace Hospice after her battle with cancer ended in a draw (ref:Norm Macdonald) on Friday, July 12, 2024. She was born in Antigo on August 5, 1961, to parents Walter and Valerie (nee: Lukas) Allen. She was a 1979 graduate of Juneau High School. After high school, she worked at Kohl's in Southridge Mall where she met lifelong friends Corinne Krier and Karen Wilson (Krier) and their family. Leaving that job, she went to work at M&I bank on 70th and Greenfield in West Allis and met more lifelong friends Colleen Hartzheim, Kelly Low and Sandy Heinz. This is also where she and Eric met in 1994. Starting her part-time job at Jerry's House of Harley in Milwaukee, she made even more lifelong connections with many coworkers and customers. Over the course of just a few years, she worked her way up to office manager as well as, Treasurer of the local Hog chapter. On November 2, 2002, she and Eric Olson were married and later that same week, she began working in Client Services at Hausmann Group (formerly BSG) where she met still more lifelong connections. She retired after more than 20 years of service in 2023. Her amazing collection of friends and family were lovingly known as "her people", and she became everyone's Auntie Laurie along the way! Laurie's favorite activities involved anything as long as her people were included! Some of the things she loved most were; taking care of everyone all the time, cooking, hosting parties at the house, annual trips to Green Lake, watching Elvis movies, working in her gardens, watching nightly British crime dramas with Eric, hanging out with her brother, Bill on weekends, supporting live music, driving her Saab convertible, giving the most valuable advice to anyone needing her problem solving talents, spending time with her many nephews and nieces, bird watching, late night walks to the lake with friends, her "whirl of fun" and of course, "Champion of the Day/Night" all while spreading her never-ending supply of love to all. She is survived by her loving husband Eric of Elkhorn, her parents Walter and Valerie Allen of West Allis, sister Debbie (Bob) David, niece Janessa of West Allis, brother Bill Allen of Muskego, sister Kandace (late David) Allen of South Milwaukee, nephew David (Emily) Allen, and great nephew Charlie Allen. Also survived by, brother-in-law Michael, Anexis and nephew Sam Olson of Elkhorn, father and mother in-law Leon and Barbara Olson of East Troy, sister-in-law Lisa, Matt, nephews Ollie and Tucker Miller of Almond, WI and countless other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother David Allen. Laurie's love and influence will live on forever to those blessed to have known her. She was strong in her faith, with Jesus as her savior, and was looking forward to seeing heaven and her people greeting her there. Many thanks to Pro Healthcare's incredible cancer treatment staff for the love and support during her illness. And to her amazing team at AngelsGrace Hospice for their caring approach to her end of life and especially to Nicole for following Laurie's most important order. Memorial donations in her name to AngelsGrace would be appreciated N74W35908 Servants Way, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
