Lawrence L. Johnson,“Uncle Larry” Age 70 (looked like 60 and acted like 40). Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 1, 2014. He is survived by his best friend and wife Cindy (nee Kontowicz), his son Adam Lawrence Johnson, daughter Sara Kathleen Johnson, daughter-in-law Sherry Kay Frost and beloved grandsons Elijah Nathan Frost and Zachary Adam Frost. Larry is further survived by his sisters Jacquie Johnson, Jeannie (Joe) Koch; his loving in-laws: Kerry & Joan Kontowicz, Keith & Debbie Kontowicz, Gregg & Mary Kontowicz, Amy & Kevin VanderGalien and father-in-law John Kontowicz as well as cousins, nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his daughter Andrea and parents Harry and Beulah Johnson.
A Memorial Service with visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5 at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the time of sharing at 6:00 PM. Private interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Larry loved riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle more than anything else (including his wife). Please come as you are. If you are a rider, please ride to the service. Biker gear welcome. No suits, ties, dresses or heels required. This is a casual gathering to remember Larry’s life.
A special thanks to Dr. Todd Doernier, Dr. Russell Harland and Dr. Kooroush Saeian as well as his nurses at ProHealth Care Pulmonary Rehab for their assistance in helping Larry fight through his illness for the past 7 years. Also thanks to all his girlfriends and Tony in the pulmonary rehab program. He loved you all. More thanks to the nurses and staff at AngelsGrace Hospice for making his final moments peaceful and comfortable.
