Leatrice “Lee” Joy Holton, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the age of 92. She was born in Baraboo, WI on February 26, 1923 the only child of John G. and Rose (nee Stingl) Coleman. On August 15, 1942 she married John C. Holton; he preceded her in death on April 20, 1971. Following the death of her husband, she spent many years with her special friend, Harold “Bud” Brecher who preceded her in death in 2000. Lee worked as a secretary for the Federal Government and for many of those years at the EEOC. She loved to travel, golf, do water aerobics and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. Lee always had a positive outlook and lived life to the fullest. At age 91 she enjoyed a ride on a Harley and always impressed everyone when she told them she drove a stick shift car her whole life, even at age 91. Most of all Lee loved being with her family. She was tremendously proud of her four grandchildren and will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
She was the beloved mother of Leslie (Thomas) Balliet of Bluffton, SC and John “Mike” (Marlene) Holton of Wales. She was the cherished grandmother of Jason (Linda Pende) Balliet of Miami, FL, Jessica (Jeffrey) Kopesky of West Allis, Matthew (Allison Putnam) Holton of San Francisco, CA, and Ryan (Nicole) Holton of Portland, OR and great-grandmother of Colman Balliet and another great-grandchild on the way. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Honoring Lee’s wishes, a private family funeral service will be held. Her final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
