Leroy Wegner

a longtime Waukesha resident, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Waukesha Springs at the age of 85.  He was born on April 9, 1924 in Mukwonago to William and Lillian (nee:  Frank) Wegner.  On September 14, 1946 he married the former Patricia Knight in West Allis.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  For many years LeRoy had been a sales manager at Husco.  He also worked as a car salesman at various car dealerships including:  Holz Chevy in Hales Corners, Vilter GMC in Oconomowoc and Steffen & John.  LeRoy enjoyed working as a security sales manager at Merchant Police, retiring in 1989.  He has been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church since 1957 and was a member of Daniel J. Martin American Legion Post 8, Soat-Vergenz VFW Post 721, Knights of Columbus Waukesha Council #1825 and member of the U.S. Navy Armed Guard World War II Veterans.  He had worked with Tom Vilter organizing farm auctions and for many years worked at Randle-Dable Funeral Home as a greeter.  He will be sadly missed by his wife Patricia of Waukesha, along with their children Michael Wegner of Waukesha, Mark (Nancy) Wegner of Waukesha, Maureen (Scott) Prossen of Seffner, FL and Mary Jo Spencer of Waukesha.  Beloved grandfather of Ellen, Joseph, Rebecca, Cameron and Jessica.  He is further survived by his sister Virginia Schwartzfeger of South Milwaukee, sister-in-law Beverly Wegner of The Villages, FL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters; Earl “Duke”, Walter, Philip, William, John, Isabelle, Louise, LaVern, Wesley and Dan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14 from 4:00 pm until the Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI.  Services continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 15 with prayers beginning at 10:15 am followed by the procession to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI for the 11:00 am Funeral Mass.  Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to any Veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice or for Masses at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (address above).  For further information, please call Randle-Dable Funeral, Cremation and Preplanning Services at (262) 547-4035, or go to www.waukeshafunerals.com for directions or to leave an on-line tribute.
