Lester S. Palmer of Waukesha died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at LindenGrove at the age of 93. He was born in Dousman, WI on February 9, 1924 the son of Kenneth and Grace (nee Schaefer) Palmer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. Les worked as a truck driver for many years at Spring City Trucking, and later General Cartage. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 200. In retirement, he enjoyed driving cars for car dealership transfers. Les loved going to the casino, playing bingo, playing cards, golfing, bowling and especially loved to eat. He loved country music and was proud to have had the opportunity to shake Charley Pride’s hand. Les found great joy in traveling and visiting his friends and family.
He will be sadly missed by his loving companion of 26 years, Laura DeGuiseppe of Waukesha, his children, Mike (Carla) Palmer of Waukesha, Penny (Tom) LeMere of Augusta, WI, Cheryl (Keith Loftus) Goring of Falcon, MO and Debbie Palmer of Lebanon, MO. He was the proud grandfather of Brandon (Shelli) Palmer of Oconomowoc, Colt “CJ” (Lori) Palmer of Johnson Creek, Chelle (Terry) Martin of Milton, FL, the late Gina Poss, Kim (Jack) Hanes of Sedelia, MO, Jason Goring Sr., Jerry Goring Jr. and the late Tammy (Donnie) Finley of Falcon, MO, and great-grandfather of Cayden, Alexandria, Jenna, Devin, Jordan, Jarret, Justin, Kayleigh, Zachary, Jonathon, Mikheala, Jason Jr., Cody, Jenifer, Jonathon, Shelby, Michael, Treva and the late Cheyanne and great-great-grandfather of Brooklyn, Taylor, Peyton, Amelia and Dallas. He is further survived by his brother Donald (the late Joyce) Palmer of Waukesha along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his granddaughters Gina Poss and Tammy Finley, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty, brothers, Gordon “Mugs”, Russ, Gibb, Roger, Jim and Eugene, and sisters Carol, Beatrice, Josephine and Armine.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield at 2:30 p.m. Please meet at the cemetery.
