Linda A. Konsella

July 15, 1950 — April 17, 2025

Waukesha

Linda A. Konsella of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the age of 74. She was born in Milwaukee on July 15, 1950 the only child of William and Ruth (nee Stevens) Elderbrook. Linda dedicated many years of her career to the State of Wisconsin retiring as the Section Manager of the Food Share Quality Control for the Division of Medicaid Services at the Department of Health Services. In her personal life, she was known for her creativity and excellent craft making skills particularly in card-making. A lover of travel, Linda cherished her trips to the Great Smoky Mountains and Topsail Beach in North Carolina, where she found great joy in walking along the beach. Following the passing of their spouses, Linda and her best friend Jacaie Coutant embarked on many cruises and vacations together.

Linida enjoyed taking pictures, was an avid photographer and reader and was active in her community as chief inspector at the Waukesha Board of Elections voting polls. Linda also had a deep affection for cats, notably her beloved companion Paladin. She served as the past president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and was known to have a heavy foot so she took advantage of that and drove NASCAR stock car around the Charlotte Motor Speedway Track.

She was a devoted mother to her son, Shawn, and maintained close relationships with her cousins, Debbie Miller and Kenneth Ray Hardee, both of whom held a special place in her heart.

Linda's memory will live on in her cherished son, Shawn Howe; her cousins, including Daniel Kenneth Hardee (Patty) of West Allis, WI; Debra Hardee Miller of Castle Hayne, NC; Kenneth Ray Hardee of Hallsboro, NC; Susan Rabon Malsh (Eddie) of Franklin, WI; Nancy Ann Rabon Brantman of Hartland, WI; and Sandra Hardee McGirt (Curtis) of Hallsboro, NC. She is also survived by ten second cousins, fifteen third cousins, and three fourth cousins. Linda's best friend and unwavering supporter, Jacaie Coutant, along with her dear friend Jennifer McKenzie, will also remember her fondly. Jennifer’s children affectionately called her Gammy Linda.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Konsella, and her stepfather, Ken Elderbrook.

Our family would like to send a special thank you to all of Linda’s doctors, nurses and support staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and her care team at UW Health Cancer Center. Linda spoke highly of her team and the care she received. God Bless to all associated with her care.

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
