Lloyd A. Wiedenhoeft, 92, Waukesha, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 6, 2017. He was born on February 12, 1925, in Glidden, to the late Gustave and Alice (Wirsing) Wiedenhoeft. Lloyd graduated from Glidden High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945 serving in the Asian and European Theaters, including a campaign in Normandy, France. He was a long-time member of VFW Post #721, often participating in the Color Guard for parades and volunteering with the Military Order of the Cootie.
Lloyd married his first wife, Dorothy, on her birthday, May 21, 1949. Dorothy preceded him in death in 1960. He married Virginia (Teubert) Wiedenhoeft on December 18, 1976. Lloyd retired from Dresser Industries in 1987. A talented handyman, Lloyd was always in pursuit of a new home improvement project. He was a technophile, often found delving into the latest technological gadgets. Lloyd also enjoyed spending his time traveling, bowling, going to casinos, playing darts and dabbling in photography.
Lloyd will be deeply missed by his wife, Virginia; his children, Jim (Jane) Wiedenhoeft, John Wiedenhoeft, Joan McCarthy, Frank Fay, Georgia (Steve) Radcliffe, Pam (George) Kurek, Joan (Dave) Vandenbush and Kathy (Rusty) Simonis; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Fairbanks) Wiedenhoeft; two daughters, Myrna Lynn Wiedenhoeft and Christine Fay; a granddaughter, Anna Laura Wiedenhoeft; and three brothers, Wesley (Esther) Wiedenhoeft, Connie (Ida) Wiedenhoeft, and Alvin (Irene) Wiedenhoeft.
Visitation will be at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017. The Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will conclude the Service. Burial will be in Town of Summit Cemetery.
