Lois May Greenwaldt, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Seasons Hospice at the age of 87 years. She was born in Waukesha on July 1, 1926 the daughter of Walter and Lena (nee Brown) Dornbrak. On June 5, 1948 she married Robert Greenwaldt at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member. Lois was a talented musician and enjoyed volunteering at area nursing homes playing the piano. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed gardening and was an avid bird watcher. Lois loved life and her family was very important to her. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years, Robert “Bob” Greenwaldt of Waukesha and their children, Jim (Debra) Greenwaldt of Dousman, Tom (Debbie) Greenwaldt of Waukesha, Pat (Al) Grulke of Waukesha and Anne (Paul Rullo) Van Housen of Villages, FL. She was the dear grandmother of Ryan Manske, Tim (Stacey) Greenwaldt, Katie (Brad) Kuntz, Mike and Mitch Grulke, Daniel (Krissy) Van Housen and David and Elizabeth Van Housen along with four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Elaine Ward of Texas along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Ione Diekfuss and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 10:00AM until the time of the 12:00 Noon memorial service at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Rev. Dr. Wayne Borgwardt will preside. Burial will immediately follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church.
